摘要：After the founding of the People’ Republic of China, modern research on the physics of detonation was started in the fifties. In the sixties, theory and application of detonation was discussed on several meetings. The First Symposium on Detonation, sponsored by the Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, was held in Lanzhou,july26-31,1979. Four years later, the Second Symposium on Detonation was held in Nanjing , Nov.26 to Dec.1,1983. The first International Symposium on Intense Dynamic loading and its Effects[1] was convened in Beijing on July3-7,1986.The Third Symposium on Detonation, combined with the International Symposium on Pyrotechnics and Explosives[2], was held in Beijing, Oct.12-15,1987.Journals Explosion and Shock Waves[3], Acta Armamentarii[4], and Chinese Journal of High Pressure Physics[5],cover the detonation science and related technology.
